How Can I Spread Bet Against British Sterling?

Posted by admin December - 15 - 2008 - Monday

The British Sterling Pound has collapsed during 2008 against the US dollar. The Sterling Pound was trading at a foreign exchange (FOREX) rate of circa 1.9 to 2.0, against the US Dollar, for much of 2008, but collapsed under the strains of the economic crisis to circa 1.5.

There are many investors who believe that the Sterling Pound is now undervalued and that it is worth betting on a Sterling recovery. There have also been some indications from the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) that the value of Sterling is taken into account when considering interest rate adjustments, this could have the consequence that the UK base rate will not be dropped by the Bank of England as aggressively as the potential Federal Reserve assumed cuts.

Whatever the outcome there is certainly a lot of talk about potential movements. Betting on FOREX movements, using such online companies as Easy-Forex or ACM, has the potential to gain and lose the investor huge sums of money. This is a very very risky business though, since the investor can lose significantly more than the initial bet.

It is therefore crucial to take professional independent advice and understand the true potential risks before playing such a risky game with your money.

Despite everyone’s claims, it’s not simple to make cash online with FOREX, especially without training and a will to learn and act each day.
