HSBC has recently been in the press as a result of the global debt financing crisis.
In much of 2008, HSBC was held up as a bright light in the banking world as many of HSBC’s competitors appeared to be lurching into the bad weather caused by the financial storm. Towards the end of 2008 HSBC was starting to show a few chinks in its armor as a result of its broader global business, which had been its strength earlier in that year.
There are indications however that HSBC is apparently still weathering the financial debt crisis storm. This can be demonstrated by HSBC and its various subsidiaries offering potential financial products such as HFC personal loans and Beneficial personal loans… however, this is of course subject to daily fluctuation in the current climate!
