The Commonwealth Bank seems to be continuing to offer personal loans to the Australian consumers. A significant section of the Australian economy has been adversely affected by the downturn in demand for raw materials from the power house of China. Australia has provided huge amounts of raw materials such as coal and copper to Chinese exporting industries.
Unfortunately China has now started to stall on the export front, thus the Australian export economy has started to stall. This has resulted in increased unemployment and thus the probable need for increased short-term personal loans to many Australian consumers.
