The stict adherence to tough personal loan criteria continues with Abbey and probably all banks both in the UK and further afield. Even if you do manage to pass the strict criteria it might still take a while for the money in the form of a loan come through, since there appears to be a significant increase in the amount of internal bureaucracy within most banks.
This bureaucracy is understandable when you consider that funds still appear to remain scarce, despite assurances to the contrary from many governments.
