Secured personal loans may not be appropriate for all people since they require collateral to be used as security against the bank loan. It is also necessary to seek independent professional advice on taking out a loan, since for many customers it will be more attractive to acquire an unsecured personal loan from Wachovia or any other bank: the reason being that an unsecured personal loan does not put the customer’s securitized asset at risk.
