London Scottish a UK bank has filed for administration. The UK bank had apparently faced capital challenges and appears to have failed to be able to deal with the financial capital requirements. The UK bank’s local customers are expected to be partially covered by a UK government guarantee.
In contrast to Northern Rock this UK bank was not funded and effectively acquired. It appears that certainly in the short-term both USA banks and UK banks will remain challenged by the tough economic climate.
